![]() ![]() It’s just one LONG, LONG, LONG chapter of 100 pages I’ll need to tackle in one sitting. If it was I could read it over a couple of nights. A reader needs to be able to come up for air now and again. I personally don’t see why they’re necessary. This means the whole novel only has seven or eight chapters in it. The third chapter that I hope to tackle tonight is 100 pages long. I’ve only read two chapters and have passed the 150 page mark. The only gripe I have so far is that the chapters are REALLY LOOOOOOOOOOOOONG. I should be able to get through it a bit faster. ![]() This might be because Wolf Hall was a paper-back and Bring up the Bodies is a hard-back. The plot is a bit more fast-paced than Wolf Hall and Mantel seems to have gotten into the swing of telling the story.īring up the Bodies is a couple of hundred pages shorter than Wolf Hall. ![]() Since my mind has adjusted to this through reading Wolf Hall I barely notice it. I’m a hundred or so pages into Bring up the Bodies, Mantel’s second historical novel about Thomas Cromwell.īring up the Bodies is written in the same formal, descriptive language as Wolf Hall. ![]()
